Gretna, Burns and the Solway Coast
Dumfries & Galloway has one of the most famous wedding traditions in Britain. Couples have been running away to marry at Gretna Green for centuries, and it's still one of the UK's busiest wedding destinations. A ceilidh is the natural way to give those weddings a proper Scottish evening.
Robert Burns spent his last years in Dumfries, and the region from Moffat and Lockerbie down to the Solway coast has country houses, hotels and estate venues, while Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas offer smaller, characterful options further west.
We're honest about distance. Dumfries is about 92 miles down the M74 from the band's Perth base, the furthest run we make inside the free-travel area. Moffat, Lockerbie, Dumfries, Annan, Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright are all inside it, with no travel charge. Stranraer and the far west of Galloway are outside, so travel is quoted for those dates, clearly and up front.
Because it's a longer drive, we plan an earlier departure and confirm arrival and setup times with your venue in advance.
