Ayrshire Weddings: Coast, Castles and Burns Country
Ayrshire is Robert Burns's home county, and plenty of couples here lean into the Scottish side of the day, with a ceilidh to match. Alloway, Burns's birthplace, sits just outside Ayr, and the coast south towards Culzean and Turnberry has some of Scotland's most dramatic wedding settings.
The coast from Largs and Ardrossan down through Irvine, Troon, Prestwick and Ayr is lined with hotels and golf venues, while inland around Kilmarnock and Cumnock there are farm venues and country houses. One thing to watch: in a year when the Open is played on the Ayrshire coast, function rooms and hotel beds go fast, so check the dates before you fix a summer wedding.
It's around 80 miles from the band's Perth base, mostly motorway via the M80 and M77, and the whole county, Girvan included, is inside the free-travel area. Arran is included too. We just plan around the ferry from Ardrossan.

Further out, a contribution for mileage, travel time and any overnight stay is quoted up front.
